Capacity of the Attachment Bond in Adolescents Raised by Homoparental Families
Abstract
This research describes and analyzes the attachment ties of 30 Puerto Rican adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17 with their homoparental families and their romantic relationships. The methodology used was a descriptive cross-sectional study. The main instrument used for data collection is the Adolescent Attachment Inventory. The research is conceptualized from John Bowlby's Attachment theoretical framework, who in two-parent families specifies the attachment dynamics that manifest throughout the development of infants and their main caregivers. The results obtained show that adolescents do not present avoidant or anxious insecure attachment behaviors in their relationships with their homoparental caregivers.
