The author attempts to differentiate the various dimensions that must be considered in approaching the migration phenomena. Then provides a critical contrast between migrating and diaspora, as figures that seem to be overlapped. However, is proposed to consider such difference within the context of its consequences, as in the beginning both refers to different stages of capitalism and suggest various relational processes. If they are not differentiated from each other, we risk losing sight of the specificity of them and, to the same extent, we tend to naturalize the reality which they indicates. In order to face this risk, he develops the idea of transmigration, which should refer to specific lifestyles involved in migrating, and attempting to recognize specifically the social, cultural, political, and human costs that the phenomenon carries and also the identity processes of recognition and memory involved.
